Accurate Room Estimation
Tiles needed = Room area ÷ Tile area × (1 + waste %). We round up so you buy full boxes. Works with metric (cm/m) or imperial (inches/feet) inputs.
Buying Tips
- Always order from one dye lot — colours vary batch to batch.
- For irregular rooms, split into rectangles and sum.
- Rectified tiles allow minimum grout (2 mm); non-rectified need 3–5 mm.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many tiles per sqm?
Depends on tile size. 60×60 cm tiles: 2.78 per m². 30×30 cm: 11.1 per m². Large-format (80×80 or 1x1 m) is trending — fewer grout lines.
What waste % should I add?
Standard 10%. Diagonal or herringbone layout: 15%. For small rooms with many cuts, go 20%. Always round up to full boxes.
Floor vs wall tile difference?
Floor tiles are thicker and slip-rated (PEI 3+). Wall tiles can be thinner and less durable. The quantity calculation is identical though.
Should I buy extra for future repairs?
Yes — keep one box. Dye lots change and you may not find the exact tile again in 2 years for cracked repairs.
