Credits-Weighted CGPA
Unlike a simple average, CGPA weights each subject by its credit hours — so a 4-credit Math grade has more pull than a 1-credit elective. Enter all your courses and we compute the true weighted CGPA plus the CBSE percentage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is CGPA calculated?
Sum of (grade points × credits) divided by total credits. Add semesters or subjects one by one and the tool computes the weighted CGPA.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
CBSE and most Indian universities use CGPA × 9.5 = percentage. A 9.0 CGPA ≈ 85.5%. We show both automatically.
What's a good CGPA?
Above 8.5 is strong, above 9.0 is excellent. For IIT/NIT placements, aim for 8+; for higher studies abroad, 8.5+ CGPA roughly matches a 3.5+ GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Is CGPA the same as GPA?
No. CGPA is usually on a 10-point scale (common in India), GPA is typically 4.0 (common in the US). Use our GPA calculator for the 4.0 system.
